Do I have to sand my hardwood floor in order to refinish?

We found that we have hardwood floor under our carpet. We prepped the floor by taking out the floor tacks and staples. We went to rent the floor sander and the guy at the store said that it would save us money on sand paper to strip the varnish first and then sand the floor. So, we now have the floor stripped of varnish and we plan on staining our floor a dark dark brown. Do we still need to sand the floor since we stripped the varnish, or can we just wipe it down and start staining?

Struggling INFJ...feeling so lost...what to do with my life...go back to nursing?

I was in a nursing last yr, but was just feeling so discouraged and felt it wasn't the program for me, so I transferred into another program (an arts program). I was studying at this uni in the arts program at first (before changing into nursing), so I just continued with the program. But I have to declare my major and I'm not sure which to choose. I could either do Philosophy (which I have the marks for) or Sociology. My parents think Philosophy is a waste and advised me not to do it. They say Sociology is better and can be better applied to more jobs out there. I'm trying to do what's best for me, so I'm trying to make my own decision in the end, but I'm feeling confused at to what to do. To major in Sociology, I have to get 80% or above in the Sociology course I'm taking right now before I can get accepted in the program. I really do not want to do Sociology, but I'm still trying to do well in the course. As for Philosophy, I have the marks needed to major in it, but I'm worried that if I do major in it i'll be unable to find a job when I graduate. I do not want to become a Teacher, so I'm not planning on getting a masters in it or anything. All my peers whom I started uni with 3 yrs ago have moved on and I'm still lacking behind, struggling with what to do. I know these two courses: Sociology and Philosophy aren't the best in terms of securing a job lateron, and that's my biggest fear. I don't want to be in sch for 3 more yrs, graduate and cannot find a job. I have 15,000 in student loans already. I know first hand how it is to have a hard time finding a job, and do not want that after spending 4 yrs in uni. I've been thinking about going back into nursing. I know my family's going to think I'm crazy, but I just want to stick to one thing this time and do it. I'm thinking about applying to another nursing school (not the one I went to last yr) and hope this time things'll be different. But I'm worried that I will not get in because they'll look at my application and see I've been going back and forth with schools and that may show them I'm not a committed person (and I really am, I've just been having a hard time finding where my niche is). Or they may not take me because they'll see I've already completed a yr of nursing at another school, and I say this because I read somewhere that nursing schools want students with no previous nursing experience, and I already have 1 yr of it. If you're wondering why I left the nursing program in the first place, it was the clinicals that I dreaded. I always felt like I was never good enough there and I felt like all the other students i my grp knew what they were doing, except me. I just always felt like I didn't belong. I do not have a problem with the nursing courses itself (tho I find the theory part to be a bit boring), and I loved Pharmacology and Pathophysiology. I loved learning about diseases, drugs, etc. I'm just confused. Should I apply to nursing schools again?? This time I'm going to stick with it. I'm worried about what my family'll think. They'll think I probably need psychiatric help or maybe there's something wrong with me. And I don't want them to worry too much, especially my parents -because they've really tried to be supportive, but this time if I tell them I'm thinking about going back to nursing, they'll be very angry and I really don't want to give them any hypertension. Helblad H2, Imacon Ixpress 16mp back vs Canon 5D mkii?

Alrighty, one last question regarding affordable digital medium format vs some of the more 'higher' end dslr's. I have noticed a Helblad H2 with a Imacon Ixpress 16mp back for sale for a bit more than a 5D mkii, but still a lot cheaper than a 1Ds mkiii. It is right in my price range. Now what I am wondering is how well would this compare to the quite newer 5D mkii? I know that the Canon will beat it every way in low light conditions with the appropriate lens, but generally speaking which is better for portrait work outside the studio and landscape photography as well? I am looking the best quality for my dollar, and upgradability. I know that it is a rather old back, and that is why I am concerned about it's performance vs the 5D mkii. Also according to the owner, the back has just been serviced my Helblad (cleaned and calibrated). The back before being serviced had 9000 actuations, but now has been reset by Helblad since it has been serviced. On time is 19 days, 8.6 hours. The body has 25188 actuations. I am just wondering how that sounds to you all as I have never owned any system like this. I know Canon pro cameras such as the 1Ds etc is rated to around 250k actuations I believe, and I know that the Helblad is a pro camera, so I would expect a similar life time for it as long as it was taken care of accordingly. The only thing I am worried about is the on time (for the back im uming). I have no idea if that is a lot of time on the back or not. And yes it does come with a Image bank. Sharp pulling pain in/behind belly on?

I have a sharp pulling pain in my belly on. I get it once in a while, a few times a year. I am not ovulating or menstruating, not pregnant, no piercing/tattooing there. What's the best level to go against the Elite Four in Pokemon Black or White?

50-60 I have no idea how your at such a low level but thats the level you should be at. A good way to level up is to put them in the daycare on Route 3 and then go into the Battle station in Nimbasa City( the one with the trains and its like a big circle0. Then walk down until your in the middle of the big round walkway, and put something heavy on the down and B ons and leave it there for like the night. (each step is one EXP for your pokemon in the daycare) So by the time you wake up your pokemon should've at least grown 20+ levels. Of course any moves learned at a certain level will randomly replace one of its move because the daycare lady is retarded. But yea 50-60 is a good level.

I Observed this practice,when this team of US spec-op.(unit unknown, they dont have patches on their camou uniform)were teaching soldiers scout ranger/law enforcers.ault maneuvers,.....the almost/ half day firing exercise in the police range...have produced enormous amount of SS109 rounds littered all over the firing line...then when the exercise were finished,,,i was surprised that the spec op guys, started to pick up all the spent shells, removed the targets,picked up empty water bottles,placed it in garbage bins, except the ss109 shells,which was placed on this little crates and placed on their service vehicle...all of this transpired while the local lazy wipes were puffing cigarettes, and pocketing unused ss109 rounds,not even a single wipe helped in cleaning up the range....my buddies and i could have helped in tidying up the place but were not part of the exercise.

As far as the record I will have to say no or at least put it in another category such as genetically engineered fish. 4 month old refuses to bottle/spoon feed???

I have a 4 mth old that absolutely WILL NOT take the bottle, and it's the most frustrating thing.... Even if my milk is in the bottle, she will hold the milk in her mouth, and spit it out.... She won't eat gerber jar foods either.... I'd like to ween her off my for when I want to go out, or maybe I might get sick?? But she refuses... I've already tried most of the tricks of the trade, such as mixing milk&formula.. I've tried putting the bottle nipple up to my own and feeding her that way... I've tried warming up the bottle to body temp so it would feel real... But none of it seems to be working! Any help?

How do I cope with the situation at school?

I am currently in my 2nd year of A Levels at 6th form. This year has been the worse one imaginable. The teaching has been awful and most of the teachers are nasty to you. Last year I achieved an A and a B, but failed one of my subjects because we did not finish the course in time. In year 13 i took up philosophy and ethics AS and A2 in one year. This was fine and then we started to be taught by students while our proper teachers sat at the back of the clroom on their laptops. I started to get frustrated as the students taught us by powerpoint that was word for word out of our textbook. I decided to do what my friend does and teach myself at home. All of a sudden I started gettting phonecalls home and letters and the head of 6th form, who is a rude and obnoxious lady started dragging me out of lessons and shouting at me. Most of the time, it was one of these students who kept getting me into trouble. He would not take the register and then it would appear that I was absent when I was actually present in the lesson. My teachers have accused me of lying when I have actually attended lessons. In one of my other lessons, I am the only one who hands work in and actually bothers to do the work. Yet the teachers give me a hard time when I teach myself or I miss one lesson. My friend is in the other cl for the same subject and she has not been to a lesson for 5 months and she has never been threatened or shouted at, at all. Its nearing the end of the year and exams are about to begin, but my teachers have scared me when they say that I will fail unless I go to their lessons. I am teaching myself because all my lessons are, are powerpoints that are word for word from our textbook. How can I cope with this? My friend has got away with not going to nearly all her lessons for months and as soon as i miss any, i am treated like a criminal. what do i do?

I moved in with my boyfriend to help him provide a nice place for his kids. His ex took everything. His son is very well behaved and sweet. His daughter is allways pouting, even when we are doing something for her (always) and interrupting anyone talking by being loud or blurting out answers. She is always trying to second guess me and will not quit trying to get attention constantly by being loud and being mean to her brother, even when she knows she will get in trouble. I don't know how to try to correct her behavior without upsetting her. ( the only time i said something to her she started crying and call her mother from her cell phone). So when she acts up, and pouts and s in on me talking i just stand there and have no idea what to say. Like im mute, and cant talk, or all hell will break loose. Could I be farther along?

I have been having pre term contractions for the past few weeks... i'm 29 weeks right now and before I became pregnant I was 100 pounds ( i dont know if that makes a difference) but anyway, since no medications are helping the doctor tol me I probably won't make it to 34 weeks. So its been really bugging me lately with how much she will weigh, the whole pregnancy she has been measuring bigger, like her weight has been 2 weeks in advance, at 28 weeks the ultrasound tech said she was around 2.9 pounds. Could I be farther along? And if so if they're telling me i wont make it past 34 weeks does that mean it would be like 32 weeks if I am farther along? Please help! STRESSED!

I have a 3yr. old filly who is a little underweight and thus being fed Ultium. I put her in her stall, came back an hour later, to find that she had only eaten 1/2 her grain. Sorry to say this but you've gone the wrong way about introducing the cat to the dog!!! He probably wants to attack it but because he's trained and well behaved he daren't do anything and therefore the shaking and the ignoring of the cat is his way of saying - get it out of my sight before i rip its head off!!! If, in three days time, the dog is still the same then you'll have to take out the cat for a few days then re-introduce it differently - don't just plonk it down and hope for the best - you're very lucky your GS is a bit timid!!! Take the cat, in your arms, and sit in the same room as the dog, holding the cat all the time. Let the dog sniff and nudge the cat whilst its still on your lap but, whatever you do, DON'T make a fuss of the cat, your dog will get jealous and all hell will break loose! Try holding some bits of chicken in your hands when you bring the cat in and do a one by one sharing - bit for dog bit for cat, bit for dog bit for cat etc. Its boring but will save a lot of trouble later on trust me! You cannot force them to like each other and the best you can hope for is ignorance on both parts - my three dogs are s**t scared of my cat ha ha but then he is a big brute and totally unfazed by dogs and their teeth!!! Strange fella! They all get along now, they didn't when they were young so perhaps you should persevere - i did all those years ago and i still haven't got harmony ha ha but at least they're not tearing lumps out of each other! The cat rules this roost and he'll whip the claws out if he thinks the dogs are taking liberties with him at dinner time - not such a bad thing i suppose as i know my dogs won't chase cats in the street or park - they now think all cats are like the one indoors so are extra wary ha ha. All you can do is have lots of patience and nerve and see how it goes but if your dog stops eating and gets very depressed the cat will have to move out! Help, neighbor kids invading my space!!!?

Okay, I'm not sure where else to post this, this looks close enough. I am a SAHM of 2 children under age 3. Recently, 2 new families moved into the duplex next door to me. All together the adults have 5 children, 7 on the weekends. After they moved in, I noticed them spending long periods of time outside (the kids) playing. Only problem is, they have ZERO toys, no swings, slides, pools, nada. My children are very blessed with lots of toys so I felt bad. I decided to give them an older slide and teeter totter, but the next thing I know they are standing at the fence when my kids and I are outside begging to come in our yard to play. I thought it would be greedy of me to tell them no, so said okay. Ever since that day, they come over every time we are outside. They are wild (like most kids) and expect me to help them constantly. They ask for snacks, drinks, and to use my bathroom. If they have a problem, they ask me to do something like I'm their mom. Now keep in mind, ALL the parents are at home with their doors shut, never coming outside to help. I guess they expect me to babysit their kids while they sleep, watch movies or whatever. My question is, what should I do? Would it be mean for me to send them home? I'm sure they would just stand there staring and asking to play again. I've never had this happen and am very stressed! Also, there is a school playground a few blocks away, I suggested they go there. They just stared blankly at me.

How can I fix my splotchy hair color?

My original hair color is dark brown and I just recently died it black. I used Loreal's Feria 21 Starry Night which is a permanent color. The last time I colored my hair was more than a year ago and it is in a really healthy condition. I have not had any other chemical processes done to my hair and I have never used henna dye. I had someone help me with the application of this product so I wouldn't miss any spots. I also followed the directions carefully but, for some reason the color came out spotty anyway and, now the permanent color is washing out rapidly. The box of color wasn't old as I colored my hair a few days after buying it. I know that sometimes if you buy an old box of color it will turn out spotty. I love how black hair color looks on me so i'd like to know what I can do to fix this mess. It isn't too noticeable but it does bother me. I want to dye my hair a more natural deep black. The deepest black possible. I was wondering if I could just color over top of this old color in a few weeks. Will it fix the spottiness? I also want to know if anyone has any suggestions for a good box of deep black hair color that will last a long time?

If that un-install file is put on by windows updates then the next windows updates it will look for it and create it again if its not there. I would suggest instead of going through folders and just deleting ones you think you don't need. I would go to start/control panel/add or remove programs, and look on there to see if there is any programs that you don't use anymore, or have never used. You can click on them and it will tell you the last time you used it. If you only have one hard drive installed it is not that expensive to buy a second hard drive or an external hard drive and just use it for added space. If you remove a file or folder and it messes up your OS then you will have to try a repair and it will probably add that file or folder back, if not its a new install and you won't have to worry about space anymore, since it will delete everything but your OS off the drive.

Coaxial cable confusion (help)?

Alright, i am switchin rooms. We have Charter, hwich run the internet and cable through one coaxial cable. My new room doesnt have a coax cable place in it. We can run new cable in there but since our wireless router will be in there we think we should buy the best coax cable. Which is? What we r gonna do is put the coax cable in their and split it sending one part to the router and one to the tv. Wont the spliter reduce quality too? Somethings wrong with my puppies paw? what do i do???

Even though these verses may seem to bring forth negative topics, it's often misunderstood. In the Bible, it states exactly how important women are. Their role has been said to bring men into order. The Bible isn't promoting , it's controlling it. If you're d, that means that you don't have a relationship with the man. God is telling us that if we're d, we must gain a relationship with that person. They stole our virginity, so He's helping clear the pain of never seeing the man again. The Bible clearly states that a child must honor his parents. They aren't promoting child abuse, but promoting discipline. Sacrifice for God isn't a bad thing. He is the reason why we have so many amazing things in our life, why is He so undeserving of an offering? Read Exodus, it shows exactly how much respect slaves deserve. They aren't the slaves that are beaten to death, but the slaves that are welcomed into a family. The Bible is against lust, so it's not promoting anything of that. The sword that God is speaking of is His Word. Not an actual knife. So basically, to wrap this up, you can't condemn the Bible without reading it. You're picking and choosing what you feel is wrong, so that you may be right. But if you actually read it and try to understand God, the Bible doesn't promote anything horrible.
