What would you do if you were in my situation with Thanksgiving?

guys definitely need to be hit upside the head sometimes. if you didnt say that you wanted to be with your family (which i agree should be a given) maybe he ws just too lost in his own world. Thanksgiving is a time to SPEND with family and if you are a part of his family now you should try to come to some kind of compromise. tell his brother to out and that if he wasnt getting to spend thanksgiving with his family he would be upset too!!!
