Does a healthy diet make exercise feel good?

I had never really eaten all that well in the past. But about 6 months ago, I changed my eating habits drastically... I live on a Vegan diet, and strictly organic foods. Since the change in my diet, I have noticed that when I started exercising again, it feels GREAT! It's ecstatic! It feels like I am on drugs haha. Anyways, what I am asking is... Does healthy food really have this affect? Or was I just a lazy who was ignorant to the beauty of exercise?
